Artist Profile: Vin Giuliani
Works by Vin Giuliani (1930-1975), whose assemblages of wood, mechanical parts and other assorted bric-a-brac graced the pages of numerous publications during the early 70s. Wonderfully graphic and modern, yet folky and handmade all at the same time. The image of the multi-coloured building reminded me of an art making set I had when I was a child where you constructed images from small wooden geometric shapes by tacking them onto a wood chip board. Can’t for the life of me remember the name of it though… Most of the above images from Graphis 154. Portrait of the artist from here.
